Trelleborg introduces Himod Slydring HC: offering high compressive strength at elevated temperatures

Slydring, Trelleborg’s proprietary line of wear rings guide pistons within hydraulic cylinders, absorb transverse forces and prevent metal-to-metal contact between stationary and moving components. The material choice of Slydring is vital to its effective performance. Its manufactured in many proprietary material grades, including Turcite and Orkot, for medium to heavy-duty applications.

What is HiMod?
HiMod refers to a range of high-modulus plastic materials that Trelleborg Sealing Solutions developed for applications demanding high wear and chemical resistance performance. These materials also exhibit low friction performance created by a unique balance of internal lubricants and wear inhibiting agents. The materials can be machined or injection moulded, providing engineers the design freedom to develop the most economical manufacturing method.
