What are your views on duel fuel usage?
The notification which we are aware of is how we are going to move towards Tier IV or a BS IV on the construction equipment vehicle. The construction equipment today is powered by BS III engine or tier III engine. We are moving form Tier III to Tier IV final, so we are skipping Tier IV interim emission norms. In terms of the particulate matter Tier IV interim is right now applicable for commercial vehicles and passenger cars of India. Tier IV final will be even more stringent application in terms of the fuel quality, exhaust quality coming out of the engine for an emission perspective. This will get enforced for production perspective from October 2020 and it will roll out from a sales cut-off perspective by 1st April 2021. It is a mutual time line and we are prepared for that.

How was the year 2018 for your business in terms of performance?
2018 was the best year ever for construction equipment industry, unprecedented growth across all segments except dozer. In the loader backhoe section, we have grown in a tune of more than 40 per cent, along with the industry. Our market share has increased on the back of vibratory compactor that has grown by 25-30 per cent and graders with the growth of around 20 per cent.

What are the business prospects for the year 2019?
2019 looks good and promising just as 2018 was. The base becomes huge because of the growth we saw in 2018. From year-on-year perspective, we do not see a heavy growth coming in terms of percentage. But even if we are able to sustain the same level of volume as in 2018, it will be good enough for the industry in uncertain times of elections.

Market share has increased on the back of Loader backhoe, Vibratory compactor and Graders, growing over 40 per cent, 25-30 per cent and around 20 per cent, respectively.
