The Indian construction and mining industry is gradually adapting to technology that makes the equipment user-friendly, safe and more efficient. The requirement from OEMs is on an upsurge and with the next emission norms in sight in 2020, the thrust for electronics will be more than ever.

“At Enovation Controls, we, with our market and application knowledge, are well positioned to cater to the needs of the OEM’s. Our Intelligent displays – PV380 right through to the PV1200 are very well accepted in the marketplace and we work with several Indian and global OEM’s on a host of equipment offering custom integrated solutions,” says Harpreet Singh Wahan, General Manager, Enovation Controls India Pvt Ltd.

Adding value to construction
While it costs to implement technology, the user is now more aware of the benefits well-implemented technology can bring to his day- to-day use of the equipment. Control, safety and improved efficiency by machine control is the way to go.

“Our product – the IX3212 – Intelligent Power Module, replaces the traditional fuses and relays you had in an equipment with a state-of-the-art, solid state, intelligent power management system. This reduces wiring complexities, enhances reliability and adds to the uptime an equipment needs,” he said.

Safety-related offerings
The company uses its intelligent displays, controllers, sensors and IO modules to create an application and equipment-specific monitoring, safety and control system. Safety on an equipment should be looked at as a complete system. When systems and equipment are integrated, it is ensured that the equipment safety is built in right from engine, transmission, hydraulics, operator safety, surrounding environment safety and work process safety. All these are built in with required interlocks to ensure they work well together.

As already mentioned, the best safety is provided by an integrated system. The equipment manufacturers have been working to get these implemented and now there is an ever-increasing acceptance and pull from the marketplace too for equipment that is safe in all aspects.

“Come 2020, control and safety will be of prime importance, and we are geared up to cater to the requirement,” believes Wahan.

Expansion plans
“We are positive about the Indian marketplace and though 2019 might have low growth numbers for the industry, 2020 and beyond should be very good. We are looking to strengthen our team and expand our presence in India in 2019,” he said.

The company’s application team will double, and will have a wider product offering in 2019. It is looking to enter into the industrial equipment panel business in India and by mid-2019 will offer complete built panels – standard and custom for customers’ equipment.

User is now more aware of the benefits well-implemented controls technology can bring to the equipment’s day- to-day use.
