 Shivsu Canadian Clear Provides Indigenous Solutions
The increasing shortage of water has opened many new avenues for water Industry around the world. India is not an exception. Though the industry is still in its infancy, it is bound to boom. Sushil Kumar Eshwaran, Technical Director, Shivsu Canadian Clear International Ltd. shares his views about the Company’s business activities with B2B Purchase during Water Expo exhibition in Mumbai.
Can you brief us about your business activities?
Earlier our Company had technical tie-up with Canadian Clear incorporation Alberta, U. S. A. and also with U S Microns incorporation, California USA. We now produce water treatment solutions using our own state-of-the-art technologies. We develope water treatment systems for various applications in prime industries like bottled water, beverage, food, textiles, tanneries, chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic, power, paper, off shore oil rigs, fertilizers, hospitals, refineries, etc.
We have 8 manufacturing facilities. Manufacturing unit for making RO, filling machine lines and the exclusive sea water desalination system manufacturing unit, moulds, Blowing Machine, conveyor system, ozonators, chillers, Driers, Carbonators, CIP Systems, etc.
Do you offer any products for domestic segment?
Our product range which gives output of 250 litres per hour caters to the domestic segment. This compact system is ideal for small houses or independent house that needs 250 litres water per hour.
What are the difficulties being faced by water industry in India?
Not many. Some sort of difficulties is being faced in following minimum mandatory procedures while setting up a bottled water plant. First of all, they need to obtain Panchayat license followed by Bureau of International Standards (BIS) approval for an ISI number. A NOC is also required from the Pollution Control Board.
What is your suggestion to overcome such bottlenecks?
Establishing of single window framework for obtaining all required certification may help to overcome these problems. That would also help the new entrepreneurs who wish to invest and set up bottle water project for providing clean drinking water to the society for healthier living.
Which is the key product or solution of your business?
Right now the large scale sea water desalination systems are our most preferred products. We have developed containerized sea water desalination systems upto the capacity of 100 mld which is totally assembled in our factory and shifted to site. We have supplied this product to various countries in the Gulf, Egypt, Oman, Africa, USA and all over India. We have supplied close to 5000 bottled water projects. Apart from these, we have also supplied a lot of Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants across the globe. We have plans to introduce solar power energy based RO plant.
What is the USP of your products?
Customer friendly solutions, compact design of products and timely installation are the key features of our business. We have started our business in 1969. So, we have a lot of expertise in this field and whatever we make are totally indigenous. We don’t depend too much on bought-out products, instead we provide turnkey projects. For example, if any entrepreneur wis0hes to start a bottle water project, we provide each and every product from process to packaging including full fledged microbiological labs and chemicals labs. Thereby encouraging the entrepreneurs to shop under one roof. We are the only company in India that provides entire solutions related to water treatment systems under a single roof.

We make our best efforts to provide superior quality products and solutions using our methodology and precision state-of-the-art technologies. We offer very competitive prices.

Which are the industry segments having potential for your business?
Power industry, sugar industry, cement factories, tanneries textiles, pharmaceuticals are the few segments where we see potential.
What are your future expansion plans?
We are coming up with a huge infrastructure near Chennai in 8 acres land and building for making membranes.
Please tell us about your overseas business?
We have offices in US, UAE, Kenya, Nigeria and Israel. We have positive responses from overseas especially from developing countries. In India apart from our corporate office in Chennai, we have branches in New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
Do you wish to share your opinions over Union Budget 2010-11?
Nothing specific to support the water industry, but subsidies for Textile Dye Effluent Zero discharge plants are welcome. |
